Iron Fey Contest Winners

We loved each and every one of your entries, and we're super pleased that we got excerpts not just about Ash and Puck, but also Mab, Razor, Glitch, the lieutenant and more.

Our personal favourite has to be:
"My name is Ashallyn'darkmyr Tallyn, third son of the Unseelie Court...Let it be known--from this day forth, I vow to protect Meghan Chase, daughter of the Summer King, with my sword, my honor, and my life. Her desires are mine. Her wishes are mine. Should even the world stand against her, my blade will be at her side. And should it fail to protect her, let my own existence be forfeit. This I swear, on my honor, my True Name, and my life. From this day on..." His voice went even softer, but I still heard it as though he whispered it into my ear. "I am yours."

Only five can be chosen, so the winners in no particular order:

Ellen Elizabeth
Hi! Ok, so it took me a while to think about this and I think I have it, so here it goes. The scene that I think best embodies a character, specifically Ash, is in The Iron Daughter. It's the scene where Meghan accidentally slips out saying she loves Ash when Rowan was right there as well. And Ash becomes this hard cold shell of a person saying how he doesn't care about her and why would he affiliate himself with a half-breed. I think this scene really embodies who Ash really is. Even though on the outside, he can be a big jerk, but we all know on the inside, how caring he really is towards Meghan and Meghan just wasn't prepared on how cold Ash really can be. Ash will do anything to protect Meghan, even if it means breaking her heart, when he really isn't breaking it.

Yueming
"Ash!" I called. "What are you doing? Come on!"
"Meghan." Ash's voice, despite the pain below the surface, was calm. "I hope you find your brother. If you see Puck again, tell him I regret having to step out of our duel."
"Ash,no! Don't do this!"
I felt him smile. "You made me feel alive again," he murmured.
Screeching, the gremlins attacked.

I loved this part, Ash was so nice and, well, I can't describe it. I cried a lot during this part. It was just so sweet.

Anonymous
"Enough!" Mab screeched whirling on me. "Half-breed you go too far! Your line has already robbed me of a son, and you will not touch another! I know you seek to turn my youngest against me with your blasphemous claims of love and I will not have it!"

jinxie
I absolutely adored Razor he was so cute and the things he said even though simple still managed to make me laugh :)

"Bad kitty!" he screeched, snarling and baring his fangs at Grimalkin, who yawned and turned away to groom his tail. "Evil, evil, sneaky kitty! Bite your head off in your sleep, I will! Hang you by your toes and set you on fire! Burn, Burn!" -Razor" (Iron Queen)

Laeti
So I choose this quote which I think really embodies Puck. It is between Puck and Meghan in The Iron Daughter:

Puck rolled his eyes. Holding out his hand, he gave me an encouraging smile. "Come on, Princess. Don't want to get separated in here." I clasped his hand, and he curled his fingers tight around mine. "Let's go, then. Rusty can bring up the rear. That way, if we're jumped from behind, we won't lose anything important."

Congratulations to all the winners! Please send us an email with your name, mailing address and country within two days. The rest of you, don't worry! We hope to have more contests coming up soon.

Ashallyn'darkmyr Tallyn. Say that ten times fast. And... go!

New IRON FEY Trilogy out in 2011

Also coming in 2012, there will be a SECOND IRON FEY TRILOGY. This is for all the Iron Fey fans out there, whom I'm forever grateful for. This series, set several years after the events of the first, will star an older Ethan Chase, Meghan's brother. Yep, Ethan is getting his own adventure, so be sure to be on the lookout for that. :D

Us when we read that on Julie's blog.

We're pretty stoked about another Iron Fey trilogy, and that it's taken about a decade-plus jump into the future to feature Ethan as the main character. We're hoping it's in first person point of view, as we think Julie has a great knack for getting a character's voice just right. But you know, first person, third person- we don't really mind as long as there are more books about The Iron Fey universe.

We've already added a 'Team Ethan" tag as that's pretty much everything we know about the new trilogy for now. All the better to anticipate it, yes?

Are you ready for another Fey trilogy? Any theories as to what Meghan, Ash, Puck and Grim have been up to in the time since?

YA Crush Tourney: Ash vs...

The YA Sisterhood is holding a contest, and this round it's our favourite Winter Prince against Hush Hush's bad boy fallen angel.

Julie's promised us a romantic scene between Ash and Meghan if Ash wins. What other incentive do you need? Go on here and give Ash your vote!

Julie talks about Ash

While we're waiting here patiently for the synopsis, we hear that the e-galley's already out on NetGalley. Reviews are already floating around in the blogosphere.

Julie talks about changing POVs from Meghan to Ash in a new spoiler-free post. Check it out here.

I will promise one thing, though. The prince of the Unseelie Court has always been my favorite, and I tried to portray him as honestly as I could. Writing his story was difficult sometimes, because I had to dig deep into Ash and bring all these things to light. But I can say with utter confidence that I regret nothing in Ash's story, and to the readers who love the Winter prince as much as me, this one is for you.

Aw. Is it just us, or does that sound foreboding for our Winter Prince?

The Iron Knight: Back Cover

Just when we were thought we were finally going to give good ole fresh air another try and stop gasping, we find out that Julie and the Harlequin Teen cover design team have come up with another surprise to leave us breathless.

Behold.

Isn't this a call for Team Ash and Team Puck to get along, and buy that darned book once it comes out? We expect a bit of snarling over the last copy of TIKin stores, and a lot of dithering over how to place it with the other Iron Fey books. To put Ash and Puck face front on alternate days, with the remaining day set for the spine? Or buy two copies and place them side by side?

Oh, the dilemma! *shakes fist*

Personally, we might place TIKn with Ash facing us as this is Ash's story. And print a copy of Summer's Crossing, along with that gorgeous cover in a makeshift book format, and place it along with the Iron Fey books.

How are you going to solve this, dear reader?

The Iron Knight

*pokes*

Did you tear your eyes away from the gorgeous prince that is Ash? Because we know we did. We doubt that Ash is a true Winter Prince.

How can someone so hot be the prince of an ice realm?

Impossible.

But nevertheless, there it is: The cover to The Iron Knight.

Soulless. Banished.
But never forgotten.

Feast your eyes. Once you're done, tell us: did the cover model match your vision of how Ash looks like?

Here's an event update from Julie's blog:
Harlequin TEEN and I want to invite everyone to a live online event on June 15th, where we'll reveal the back cover copy of Iron Knight, and answer your burning questions about the series. (But there will be no spoilers.) So mark your calendars for that, and I'll post details later!

New Ebook from Julie Kagawa! Summer's Crossing: Puck's Story

I love Puck, I do. I am totally Team Puck. I don't know about the other members of this Fan Site, but I just love really funny, naturally sweet caring guys. If you are also like me and are a member of Team Puck, then listen up! I have some really exciting news to share today. Julie Kagawa has written an Ebook/Novella titled Summer's Crossing. The cover was recently unveiled on Twitter, and being the amazing fansite we are, we have decided to share this with all of you.

Summer's Crossing is a novella basically telling Puck's side.

Here is a synopsis:
A Midsummer's Nightmare? Robin Goodfellow. Puck. Summer Court prankster, King Oberon's right hand, bane of many a faery queen's existence—and secret friend to Prince Ash of the Winter Court. Until one girl's death came between them, and another girl stole both their hearts.

Now Ash has granted one favor too many and someone's come to collect, forcing the prince to a place he cannot go without Puck's help—into the heart of the Summer Court. And Puck faces the ultimate choice—betray Ash and possibly win the girl they both love, or help his former friend turned bitter enemy pull off a deception that no true faery prankster could possibly resist.

An ebook exclusive novella from Julie Kagawa's Iron Fey series.

Starting June 1st, this will be available for free for a limited time, but details will be updated later.

I cannot wait for this. I also love the cover, I think it blends with all of the other novels but also stands out as a Novella. Much like Winter's Passage, this one has the vines but with an animal as oppose to Meghan.

PLEDGE YOUR ALLEGIANCE

Which court do you belong to? The sign up sheet's right here; tell us in the comments! We won't tell Oberon, Mab or Meghan, we promise.

SUMMER COURT
This court isn't filled by hot people playing volleyball, unless you consider the people to be fey, and the ball to be a human's head.

WINTER COURT
There are whispers of statues following you with their eyes. They are.

IRON COURT
Ruled by an iron fist, this is where dreams of technology come to die.
